It has been over a month since I shot super-cutie Katie's bridal session. Unfortunately for us, she had already booked her wedding photographer when she found us, but we still got to shoot her bridals. She just got married this weekend (Congratulations, Katie!!), so now we can reveal her fun, colorful bridals! Yay!
The location is The Antique Rose Emporium, which has a special place in my heart because I got married there in January. It is such a perfect location! Bright colors, unpretentious landscaping, fun architecture. If you are looking for a wedding location or just a cool place for a session, I highly recommend it. And no, they aren't paying me to say that :) Here are a ton of my favorites from her session.

We had a blast shooting Adrienne and Bill's wedding this weekend at Canyon Springs. They held the ceremony at the waterfall. When I heard "waterfall" I was expecting a little trickle, but it is was huge, such a gorgeous place to get married.
Adrienne and Bill are such a sweet, beautiful couple. They interact together so well and were so fun to shoot. Thanks for including us in your big day!
Their friends had been blog stalking us and knew just what to do to make the photos awesome. We have had such a hard time narrowing down to our favorites :) There they are...ALL of them. Dig in! Don't forget to check out the slideshow.

On Sunday morning, I hung out with Amber & Mac for their engagement session. We decided to do the session in Castroville - which is am AMAZING place for portrait sessions!! To our future brides/grooms: if you're trying to figure out where to go for your engagement session, DEFINITELY consider Castroville. There's an amaaazing mix of urban, country, cutesy, and greenery... I can honestly say it's my faaaavorite place to shoot now!!

OK, so back to Amber & Mac... these two were a BLAST! I knew to expect a crazyfun couple when Mac asked if he could wear animal-print speedos to the session in our initial phone consult. Ha! Then, within 1 minute of getting out of the car, Mac poured me a morning mimosa....GREAT first impression, Mac! :) What a way to kick off the morning. Here are my favorites from their session. How cute are Amber's shoes and Mac's graphic-T?

Mac is a native Texan and Amber is originally from Florida. When Mac spotted this Texas flag, he insisted on using it in the background! I guess this makes it official, Amber...You're a hardcore Texan now. :)

Amber's eyes = GORGEOUS! How was I supposed to choose between these shots? Impossible...

Mac wanted a "jumping" shot, so here you go!! :) It's one of my favorites from the session... I have to thank Mac for being willing to jump like 10 times to be sure we got it right. I don't think his boots were too happy with me.

Again with the eyes... LOVE IT!

YAY for bright colors!!

Amber & Mac are parents to 3 AWESOME dogs. Sasha, Jeb, and Trigger. They brought them along for a "family" photo. :) Sasha and Trigger were crazycool... but.. Jeb officially won my heart. Isn't he the COOLEST?! I'm so jealous!!!!! I wanted to take him home with me at the end of the session... but I resisted the urge. :)

Amanda's husband, Bobby, was the minister at our wedding in January. We absolutely loved having someone who knows us perform the ceremony. They are such an awesome family. Chris and I can only hope that we will be such cool parents to our children someday. We played in the sprinkler in their backyard and then went to Helotes for a little shopping. Of course, I brought along my camera to capture the fun :) Here are my favorites from the day.

Today, I took a break from blog-designing to visit YearbookYourself.com - a HILARIOUS site where you can take any photo and put it through a time machine anywhere from 1950-2000. ]]>I heart New Orleans :)http://bendthelightphotography.squarespace.com/blog/2009/7/9/i-heart-new-orleans.htmlBend The Light2009-07-09T19:34:00ZPersonalFor the last couple of years (since my Mom was diagnosed with Carcinoid Cancer), we have been making frequent trips to New Orleans to see the amazing Carcinoid specialists at LSU. For over a year now, she has been in a drug study and has to go to New Orleans every 4 weeks.
Cancer sucks. It can definitely get overwhelming, but when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Sooooo, the good news is, we have to go to New Orleans all the time. I have fallen in love with this city. The culture is so different and wonderful. It is the most European city I have ever been to outside of Europe. Below are a few random photos from our most recent trip.
P.S. If you are wondering...my Mom is doing great and surprising the doctors over and over. She is my miracle. I usually forget she is sick at all. I can only hope that I have 1% of the strength she has. I love you Momma from the deepest part of my heart!

]]>Dog Days of Summerhttp://bendthelightphotography.squarespace.com/blog/2009/7/3/dog-days-of-summer.htmlBend The Light2009-07-03T19:38:00ZPersonalYesterday, Chris, his parents and I went to the San Antonio Botanical Gardens with our puppies. They were having the "Dog Days of Summer" event. If you haven't noticed, we LOVE our puppies, so we are always up for going somewhere fun with them.
It was another scorching Texas day, but we had a blast walking all over the grounds. It is such a beautiful place, with tons of cool buildings. I would love, love, love to shoot a session there soon (hint, hint). Of course, I walked around all day with a leash in one hand and my camera in the other.

First up, a photo, not taken by me. There is one air conditioned building, so after an hour or so outside, we went in to cool off. A photographer from the Express News was there documenting the day, he took this super cute photo of us and we made it into the newspaper today!!! How cool is that?! Now we have to go out and buy several copies. Chris is convinced that the reason they chose us is his cute little one liner about the dogs being a big part of our lives. While I'm sure it helped, I think they picked the photo because of our adorable puppies!
