Heather and Doug are Married!

I absolutely loved this wedding. The details, the weather, the location, the bouquet...I could go on and on. Heather and Doug got married at Hideout on the Horseshoe in Canyon Lake. It was gorgeous! It reminded me so much of my own wedding, maybe that's why I loved it so much :)

Heather and Doug were so sweet and easy-going. They did a first look before the ceremony which gave us tons of time for Bride and Groom portraits. We love when our couples do this. It makes the day much less stressful for everyone and gets the couple straight to the party after the ceremony. Having a first look makes ALL the difference in having great wedding portraits :) Ok, ok, enough of my wedding photographer preaching...on to the photos.

Here are my favorites. As always, check out even more favorites in the slideshow.

We LOVE color!!!

Hello blue eyes!!

Heather and Doug's first look. How cool is this location?!

Can I be honest? I still have a few of these jellybeans in my car!!

Their first dance was so sweet. The song they danced to is in our slideshow.

Carrying her over the threshold...how romantic is that?!

Like Mother, Like Daughter!

Last week, I hung out downtown with Veronica and her mom for an oh-so-colorful mother/daughter session. Veronica did the session for her mom's upcoming birthday - how sweet is that?!

Our first "encounter" with Veronica was in April - she was the florist at Bill & Adrienne's wedding. After posting photos of her GOR-GEOUS bouquets (see the post here), there was so much "buzz" about what an amazing job she did. I couldn't wait to meet the chick behind the flowers. :) Brides, if you're looking for a florist, definitely contact Veronica (vaerrto@yahoo.com, 210.296.8333), she does amazing work.

Here are my favorites from the session. Enjoy :)

I was so excited when I saw these 2 outfits. How awesome are these bright colors together?! LOVE IT!!

After I took these shots of Veronica's mom, I thought "Aww... I want pics like that of my own mom! Shame on me for not taking them!!" I think every mom should have good photos of herself. Now, if only I can convince my mom to get in front of my camera...

Our First Look :)

With all the craziness planning a wedding, getting married, going on a honeymoon and keeping up with all of the weddings and portraits that we have been shooting, I haven't taken the time to post any of my wedding photos. So, here is a little taste, I promise to make more time to blog them next week. My super fun photographer was Sarah Q and as an added bonus Jennifer Nichols came along to second shoot.

This little series is one of my very favorites from the day, it was Chris and my First Look. Our ceremony started at 3, but I started getting ready at 10 am and we saw each other at 1 pm to make sure we had plenty of time to hang out together and get tons of photos.

As a bride, I would HIGHLY recommend doing this. It made the whole day so fun and relaxing. We got to talk to each other, snuggle, and be in love for an hour or so before all the madness began. Those moments when we first saw each other are so precious. I can't imagine not having that time to be together and really let it soak in that we are getting married, TODAY!!

After the ceremony, it is on to family photos and then straight to the reception, so that hour taking photos before the ceremony was the only time we got to spend with each other (and it was OUR wedding day, am I right?!!). It was also really nice that we got to the party quickly. The reception went by so fast and I wanted to talk to everyone, so already having the bride/groom portraits out of the way made that possible.

As a side note...I also made sure that I had wiggle room in my timeline. I scheduled my hair and makeup to start 30 minutes earlier than I thought was necessary, but we ended up finishing right on time. There are always unexpected things that come up on wedding days and I wanted to make sure that I had allowed for that. NOTHING was gonna stop my picture time. LOL!! What else can you expect from a wedding photographer?! :)

Awwww!

Some of you may remember the portrait session we did with my neice Annalin a few weeks back. Well... she's at it again (being ridiculously cute, that is). It looks like she's found a new crush... Mr. Rubber Ducky. :)  He is quite handsome, if I don't say so myself. And she's (obviously) the cutest little girl ever... so they make quite a pair. :)

Annalin's photos always make me smile (maybe I'm partial)... so I'm sharing this shot, hoping it will make you smile too.
(...apparently Annalin brings out the cheesy-ness in me because I just re-read that last sentence and... wow... I totally sound like a Hallmark card... but since it's true, I'm gonna leave it. hehe)

Kelli and Robert are Married!

Last weekend, we shot Kelli and Robert's wedding at Margarite B. Parker Chapel at Trinity University. Then, it was on to their reception at Sonterra Country Club.
We met Kelli, her mom and sister last year and have been looking forward to her wedding ever since. They are such a fun-loving family :) Kelli and Robert are such a sweet couple and we had tons of fun being a part of their big day! For more photos, check out the slideshow.

The last minute touch ups.

The flowers were absolutely gorgeous.

I love the contrast of the peach colored flowers against the purple dresses. Perfect!

Isn't she pretty?!

Meet Robert. The handsome groom.

Details. Details. Details.

Love this shot of Robert and Kelli's Mom watching Kelli and her Dad dance. So cute :)

The flower girls are so excited :)

How cute are Robert's grandparents in this photo?! Love it!!
