Meet Miss Phoenix :)
The year was 1993. 7th grade. Into my
private-school classroom walks a new girl named Margaux - AKA "Joker". She wore
baggy pants, had big hair, and drew on the walls in the bathroom. She was
everything my parents had hoped to shelter me from by putting me into this tiny
private school. She became my very best friend (to my parents' dismay). Though
we were total opposites, we had blast together. We snuck into dollar movies,
wrote fan-letters to Jean-Claude Van Damme, snuck out to see boys, and memorized
every Vanilla Ice/MC Hammer/New Kids song ever recorded.
Fast-forward 16 years... Margaux is married and has a new baby girl named
Phoenix. We've given up on hairspray and moved on from Van Damme, but she's
still one of my best friends. :) Last week, she asked me to drop by and take
some photos of Phoenix (who I call "Phee-Phee" just to annoy Margaux). :D She's
8 months old and coudn't be more adorable. We're hoping Phoenix will behave MUCH
better than we did in our junior high/high school years... Hmm... scary thought.
Here are my favorite shots. Enjoy :)

Margaux will kill me for posting this.... but I
think it's charming. :) One of the many photos we took at Pear Apple County Fair
- anyone remember Pear Apple?! It was DA BOMB!! (Another 90s reference - ha!)
As you can see, I wore way too much makeup (right) and Margaux (left) thought she was
too-cool-for-school with her peace-sign. :)

I love these crib shots! So cute :)

Me (doing anything and everything to get Phoenix to
look at me. :) Needless to say, she couldn't stop staring... I love that the
mouth is on my nose. Weird.

Margaux has loved Snoopy as long as I've known her.
He's all over the nursery. :)

Stylish baby. About 300 pairs of shoes. Ha!
